The AutoVikes competed in their first Square One competition at Kettering University on Friday. Teams had to measure their distance traveled using a bike computer on the tire and the winner was the team that traveled the farthest in a 60 minute heat. The course included sharp turns, positive and negative grade inclines, full stops and wide turns. Teams were banned from going faster than 30 mph and were disqualified if they did so more than once.  The challenge was primarily about energy management on electric vehicles, reducing the energy required to move the cart so that the battery lasts longer. #leadthecharge
