Varsity girls basketball played a very hard-fought battle and came out victorious, defeating Traverse City St. Francis 45-39 Thursday night. From the first tip, Amanda Lewis opened the game with a great mid-range jump shot followed by two 3-pointers from MaKayla Watkins. Defensive pressure by Amanda Lewis, Jill Hartman and Olivia Duba was huge for us and excellent rebounding from Cali D'Amour, Emma Kuziel and Ali Helinski were also huge aspects of this win. The Lady Vikes only gave up the lead one time and it was quickly taken back as result of defensive pressure and crashing the boards. MaKayla Watkins led the scoring with 21 points and Cali D'Amour had 12, Amanda Lewis added 4 and Jill Hartman and Emma Kuziel chipped in with 3 apiece.

JV girls basketball held the TCSF Gladiators to 31 points Thursday night with their aggressive defense and multiple steals. Molly Montgomery led the team with 8 points. Kendra Allen contributed 6 and Leah Kirmo added 3. Allesyn VanNuck, Katy Hayden and Lahna Malonen all pulled down some big rebounds, while Lexi Hudsen and Allyson Albert contributed with multiple assists.
