In our Kindergarten STEM lesson, we explored how clouds form and how rain happens by making a “cloud in a jar.” We filled a clear jar with water, added a layer of shaving cream on top to act like a cloud, and then slowly dropped colored water onto the “cloud.”
As the shaving cream cloud filled up, the colored water began to fall through—just like rain! This helped students see that when real clouds get too full of water droplets, they release the water as rain. It was a fun, hands-on way to understand weather in action.
