Registering Your Child
Parents are urged to register their children three weeks before the start of the school year if they are new to the Crawford AuSable School District. Students new to the district can report to the building they will be attending from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. A current immunization record must be presented or contained in transfer records.
At the elementary level, the building principal will assign the student to a classroom. At the middle school and high school levels, the student will be assigned a counselor who will then assign a class schedule after reviewing transferred records and meeting with the student to discuss goals, interests and past successes.
It is suggested that all new-to-the-district high school students call ahead to make an appointment with GHS Counseling Office secretary Teresa Bonamie at 989-344-3512.

Michigan Requires Immunization For School Entry
Michigan law prohibits a principal from admitting new entrants to school without a record of having received at least one immunization dose for each of the following: measles, mumps, rubella, polio, diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis. Records for all entering kindergarten students and students enrolled from outside the district will be reviewed to ensure immunizations are up to date. Notice will be sent to parents or guardians if there is no immunization record upon school entry or if records are incomplete. Students not in compliance with state immunization requirements will be excluded from school until documentation or immunization is presented. Parents may sign a waiver if they have a religious or other objection to immunization, or they may provide a statement of objection for medical reasons which has been signed by a physician.
Michigan law requires that all students be immunized against diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, polio, measles, mumps and rubella. Immunization can be obtained from your physician or health department.
Required for all children entering kindergarten, all 6th grade students and all children changing school districts:
Two doses of varicella (Var) vaccine or history of chickenpox disease.
Required for all children 11-18 years of age who are changing school districts or who are enrolled in 6th grade:
One dose of meningococcal (MCV4 or MPSV4) vaccine.
One dose of tetanus/diphtheria/acellular pertussis (Tdap) vaccine (if 5 years have passed since last dose of tetanus/diphtheria vaccine - DTaP, Td or DT).
