GMS Makes 'Best Middle School' List
According to US News & World Report , Grayling Middle School is ranked 102 out of 1042 Middle Schools! GMS is in the top 10%!!
US News & World Report recently published their first-ever rankings of public middle schools, and the news is good for GMS: Our school placed among the top 30% of middle schools in the state of Michigan, making it a U.S. News Best Middle School.
Less than 30% of the schools earned the right to be called Michigan's Best Middle Schools and use the U.S. News badges as symbols of excellence in education.

The CASD Board of Education has begun planning for our next investment in our school community. In part, our next project will include an effort to convert our middle school building into a middle school campus. To do this, we have requested the Grayling City Council approve a resolution vacating a small portion of Ottawa Street.
Grayling High School was named to the U.S. News & World Report's 2021 "Best High Schools" rankings for the 11th time. GHS was ranked 133rd in Michigan and #3,623 in the country. The entire CASD staff won the 2020 Grayling Chamber of Commerce "You Made It Happen" award for navigating through the educational process during the pandemic in a ceremony held at Hanson Hills on June 17. The award is given annually to a business, organization or person who positively affected the growth of the community over the past year. "It is always an honor to be among the nominees, but I think that statement never was more true than in 2020," said Superintendent Justin Gluesing.
