CASD School of Choice Openings
The Schools of Choice provisions in Section 105 and Section 105c of the State School Aid Act are designed to allow local school districts to enroll nonresident students and count them in membership without having to obtain approval from the district of residence. Section 105 permits local school districts to enroll students who reside in other local school districts within the same intermediate school district (ISD). Section 105c allows enrollment of students who reside in school districts located in the contiguous ISDs.
Currently Accepting Applications
The Crawford AuSable School District is currently accepting applications for nonresident students under 105 and/or 105c of the State School Aid Act (Schools of Choice).
Grades: Kindergarten through 12th

Grayling Elementary School (Grades KG-4)
Grayling Middle School (Grades 5-8)
Grayling High School (Grades 9-12)
Great Lakes Online Education (Grades K-12)
Openings Available:
KG-4th - Limited to 9 each*
5th-12th - Unlimited slots
*For KG - 4th grade, availability may differ based on ELY and Traditional calendars
Transportation to the school district is not provided. Parents must make arrangements to get their children either directly to school or to the nearest CASD bus stop.
Application Due Dates:
1st Trimester - ELY Calendar Students:
July 25-August 12, 2022 (Applications must be received by August 12, 2022.)
1st Trimester - Traditional Calendar Students:
August 15-September 2, 2022 (Applications must be received by September 2, 2022.)
2nd trimester - All Students:
November 14, 2022-January 20, 2023 (Applications should be received by December 2, 2022, but can be submitted as late as January 20, 2023.)
