The primary challenge before the board of education is to exercise educational leadership to provide the best programs for each student's needs and abilities. It is the board's responsibility to:

approve educational standards and goals as well as innovation and changes in curriculum

establish policy and hire a superintendent to execute these policies

maintain fiscal responsibility of the district

negotiate contracts with employee groups

NOTICE OF A PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED 2021-2022 BUDGET AND PROPERTY TAX MILlAGE RATE
Please take notice that on June 14, 2021 at 6:00pm in the Grayling High School Media Center at 1135 N Old 27, Grayling, Michigan, the Board of Education of the Crawford AuSable School District will hold a public hearing to consider the District's proposed 2021-2022 budget.
The Board may not adopt its proposed 2021-2022 budget until after a public hearing. A copy of the proposed 2021-2022 budget, including the proposed property tax millage rate, will be available for public inspection during normal business hours at Grayling High School, 1135 N Old 27, Grayling, Michigan after June 10, 2021.
The property tax millage rate proposed to be levied to support the proposed budget will be a subject of this hearing.
