Board of Education

The primary challenge before the board of education is to exercise educational leadership to provide the best programs for each student's needs and abilities. It is the board's responsibility to:

  • approve educational standards and goals as well as innovation and changes in curriculum

  • establish policy and hire a superintendent to execute these policies

  • maintain fiscal responsibility of the district

  • negotiate contracts with employee groups
