CASD School of Choice Openings

The schools of choice provisions in Section 105 and Section 105c of the State School Aid Act are designed to allow local school districts to enroll nonresident students and count them in membership without having to obtain approval from the district of residence. Section 105 permits local school districts to enroll students who reside in other local school districts within the same ISD. Section 105c allows enrollment of students who reside in school districts located in the contiguous ISDs.

Currently Accepting Applications

The Crawford AuSable School District is currently accepting applications for nonresident students under 105 and/or 105c of the State School Aid Act (Schools of Choice).

Openings Available: K-2nd - Limited to 9 each;  3rd-12th - Unlimited slots
Grades: Kindergarten through 12
Schools:
          Grayling Elementary (Grades K-5)
          Grayling Middle School (Grades 6-8)
          Grayling High School (Grades 9-12)
          Great Lakes Online Education (Grades K-12)

Application due dates:

1st Trimester - ELY calendar students 
July 24 - August 11, 2017 (Applications must be received by August 11, 2017)

1st Trimester - Traditional calendar students 
August 21 - September 8, 2017 (Applications must be received by September 8, 2017)

2nd trimester - All students
November 13, 2017 - January 19, 2018  (Applications should be received by December 8, 2017, but can be submitted as late as January 19, 2018).

Transportation to the School District is not provided. Parents must make arrangements to get their children either directly to school, or to the nearest Crawford AuSable School District bus stop.
