GRAYLING HIGH SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS

JV Girls’ Basketball – lost last night to Elk Rapids, 38-25. The girls played their hearts out and played very inspired, showing a tremendous improvement from the first time they played Elk Rapids.  Makayla Cragg had 11 points, 8 rebounds and 3 steals. Tandy Mitchell had 7 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals. Their next game is Thursday at Kalkaska.

 

freshman boys’ basketball – beat Elk Rapids last night 49-22 to remain undefeated in the LMC.  Jake Hinkle had 18 points and 5 steals, Mason Papendick had 7 points, and Carson Burmeister had 6 points, 7 assists and 6 steals.

 

Attention Students – Due to the lack of snow, the snow sculpture contest has been cancelled.

 

Link Group Members – Current and past trimester members, PLEASE check your 3rd trimester schedule and let Ms. Voorhees know what lunch you have by Tuesday, February 14.

 

Attention students – Tickets for Saturday's Snowgoing dance will be sold during both lunches all week. Tickets are $7 in advance and $10 at the door.

 

Attention StudentsSnowgoing picture packets are available in the main office.

 

All students – Any adjustments to third trimester schedules will need to be made very soon. The last week of February and the first week of March are going to be taken up with MME activities. Neither Mrs. Szymoniak nor Mrs. Thompson will have time for schedule changes at that time.

 

SENIORS – The March 2nd deadline for community service completion is fast approaching. Stop by the media center to check out the totals that are posted for you.

 

FOUND – Some expensive items fell out of a book that Mrs. Knapp was shelving in the library. If you go to the office and describe the items, they will be returned to you.

 

GIRLS THAT HAD DRESSES IN THIS WEEKEND’S SALE – need to see Mrs. Bonamie before or after school to pick up dresses and/or money.

 

Seniors – If you are having any problems filling out your FAFSA, remember that February 12 is College Goal Sunday. Financial aid officers will be available to help on that date, at the M-Tec Center in Gaylord, from 2-4 p.m. Also, CMU’s Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid will host FAFSA Fridays on February 10 and 17.

Kirtland Community College – is now accepting applications for scholarships. All 3 scholarships offered are eligible for renewal for a second year. The application is online and can be found at www.kirtland.edu/financialaid/scholarships. The deadline is April 16.  

community service OPPORTUNITY – Help is needed at a youth wrestling meet at GMS on Saturday from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. If interested, contact Larry Duvall at 614-0002.
