How can I help my child improve? Your child will make much faster progress if we are all on the same page with his/her speech & language program. I will take the responsibility of explaining to you what your child’s goals are.I will show you how to encourage these at home. I will also regularly send home printed speech pages/books/activities so that you can keep up to date on how your child is doing.- When your child brings home speech/language pages be sure to have them practice these out loud even if it looks completed. Let him/her brag to you and show off her very best sounds and sentences. After a few months of therapy, expect your child to be able to speak correctly using the goal words/sounds at least some of the time at home.Be positive and encouraging. Tell others how well your child is doing and how hard he is trying. This will help him do his best even if it is really hard for him. Set aside a short time each day or at least a few times each week to read together. Look for some words or sounds that are being practiced. Say them together and enjoy.
