As an eighth year Kindergarten teacher at AuSable Primary School, I would like to take this opportunity to tell you a little about myself. I grew up and have lived in the Higgins Lake area for the past 30 years. I have a brother that lives in Indiana, another brother that is in Roscommon and a sister that lives only 2 miles from my house. I have a one year old beautiful little girl named Emily. She is my pride and joy. I have a wonderful dog named Molly. Not only did I grow up in this area, I went to Roscommon schools all the way from kindergarten until graduation. Since then, I have coached cheerleading for Roscommon and was a director for the Miss Roscommon Scholarship Pageant. After graduation from high school, I attended Kirtland Community College where I received my Associate in Arts degree. From there, I transferred to Saginaw Valley State University. I graduated in December of 2003 and earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education. I spent eight weeks at St. Helen Elementary School and eight weeks in Ormskirk, England where I completed my student teaching requirements. Feeling like I needed to know more about early childhood education, I went back to school and earned my Masters in Early Childhood Education from Saginaw Valley. I have been blessed and honored to join the staff at AuSable Primary School. It really is a “ A Great Spot to Learn." Things that I enjoy when I am not teaching are: reading, biking, taking long walks, golf and mostly, spending time with my family and friends (especially my little girl and my dog)..
