Classroom Behavior Management

I will track your child’s behavior with a check system using a discreet method of a clipboard. The sequence of consequences is listed below.

A + is super and I did not have to speak with your child about any negative behavior.

* Is a warning

· Means I’ve talked to your child twice and it is 5 minutes to discuss behavior with me at recess

/ Means I’ve talked to them now three times and it is 10 minutes

// Is now four steps and it would be either a note or call home (This is step that you will be made aware of, up to this point it will be handled between myself and your child)

I will be passing out awards and reinforcements daily to address the positive behaviors of your child. I would also like to point out that if a behavior is severe enough your child might not follow the process of each step and may require an immediate call home or visit to the office. I hope this helps you in understanding my process in the guidance of your child.

HOMEWORK

I encourage 15 minutes of nightly reading by or to your child. Almost every month you will be given a calendar to track this. If you do not have the appropriate level of books for your child please let me know and I would be happy to provide some.

I will send math homework home almost nightly. Please complete this and return them to school. These simple pages allow a great opportunity to reinforce the lessons we have carried out at school. They may occasionally have worksheets assigned from our reading program.

Finally you can look for a newsletter on the first Monday of every month. Please take a moment to read these and get updated on happenings here.
