2008-2009 GRAYLING HIGH SCHOOL PLC RESOURCES

PLC’s for the 2008-2009 school year will focus on Relationships - Teaching and Learning!  The GHS teams will continue to meet every Thursday during the 70 minute prep time slots.  Each PLC will monitor a grade level of students in partnership with the GHS Student Assistance Team (SAT) tracking student academic progress, for example third hour PLC will monitor tenth graders.  Teams will facilitate the intervention “Academic Center” once a month for struggling students during PLC’s, as well.  The Freshmen 5 Program begins during the 2008-2009 school year, and staff will meet with their 5 freshmen students during PLC meetings 7 times over the course of the year.  The fall and winter trimesters are organized in integrated teams creating staff unity as members address the needs of students and academic achievement.  In the spring trimester, the teams are organized into departments to allow for reflection on year-end student achievement, curriculum Pacing Guides through Course Ownership, as well as budget items and other year-end departmental items.
