2011 News

The junior class claimed the Homecoming Spirit Cup for the second year in a row! On their way to securing the cup they won major point competitions including the float, downtown window decorating and lip sync.

Another successful Kids' Night Out was conducted by the junior class on December 11. Approximately 200 kids were in attendance and a good time was had by all. This has proven to be a very successful fund raiser for the Class of 2011. The next Kids' Night Out is planned for March 19, 2010.

The Class of 2011 collected over 20 boxes of clothing, diapers, wipes and related items and delivered them to the Baby Closet housed in the Michelson Memorial United Methodist Church in December, 2009.

The juniors reigned victorious again, winning the Snowgoing Spirit Belt for the 3rd consecutive year! In addition to winning the dress competition 4 out of 5 days, the Class of 2011 also won the lip sync, door decorating and showcase competitions. Congratulations juniors!

During the February 13, 2010 Prom Dress Resale organized by the Class of 2011, 26 dresses were sold and 8 were given away. Girls came from Grayling, Roscommon, St. Helen, Houghton Lake and Mio. The juniors made no money on this event as it was a community service project. This was the second year that the Class of 2011 organized the event and they plan to do so again as seniors.

The 2010 Prom was a huge success! There were 265 students in attendance at the Lakeside Comfort Inn and Suites on April 17. Photos can be viewed at www.shutteryou.com or http://flickr.com/gp/49367643@N06/6y72U6.

Being a mom is often a thankless job. Some moms have it tougher than others and they are never recognized for their efforts. To help brighten their Mother's Day,  the Class of 2011 sent floral arrangements to the 11 moms currently residing at River House Shelter.
