Record Eagle Dream Team Coach, 1998, 2003 NEMC Coaching Award,
1992 Holland Sentinel West Michigan Coach of the Year. Director
of the MHSAA-BCAM Reaching Higher Showcase. The
Reaching Higher Showcase is one of two state sponsored
showcases in the United States. Active
member of BCAM & the NABC.
College: Alma College [Captain].

High School: Corunna High School [1983 State Champion].
COACH CRAIG
HOFMAN
Varsity Assistant Coach/7th Grade Coach. Attended
Southern Illinois University @ Carbondale. Coached
previously @ Kirtland Community College, Grayling & Wilmington
[Illinois]. Craig coached with the winningest
college coach in Michigan, Glen Donahue. Coach
Hofman led the 9th Grade Frosh to a 17-1 Record last year.
Hofman is an outstanding "X & O's" coach and is a tremendous
teacher of the game.
COACH ERIC
BATWAY
Varsity Assistant Coach. Attended Michigan State
University [B.S.], Southern California [M.S.], as well as a
graduate of Air Command & Staff College & Air War College.
Served 27 years in the United States Air Force.
Retired as a Colonel. Coached several Air Force
Unit Teams winning 8 base-level championships in 5 different
states over 18 years. Grayling Frosh Assistant
last year. Played previously at Grayling HS [1981
Michigan Huron Shores Championship]. Legendary
Coach Butch Hayes says, "Eric was a tough nosed defensive
player who played a key role on our championship team".
Eric's father, Chuck, was an 11 year high school coach with a
career winning record highlighted by guiding Mio to a 24-3
record.
COACH LEVI
BURKETT
Junior Varsity Coach. A former All Conference
Grayling Viking Player. Attended Kirtland CC &
Dubuque University. Received the Coaches Award [KCC
& Dubuque] & was named the Team Captain @ Dubuque.
Coached previously at Dubuque University [Graduate Assistant
Coach], Gwinn High School & Grayling High School. Coach
Burkett was an assistant varsity coach last year for the
Grayling Varsity which posted a 19-5 record. Coach
Burkett enjoys fishing, hunting, basketball, softball, playing
guitar, kayaking & watching college football.
Coach is an outstanding teacher of the game.

CHRIS KUCHAREK
Frosh Coach.
10th Season at
Grayling High School. Coached previously at Kalkaska
High School. Was a varsity assistant coach [post development]
at Grayling with the 2003 NEMC Co-Championship Team.
College: Central Michigan University. High School:
Grayling High School [member of 95 Championship Team].
BCAM Member. "Coach K has devoted a ton of time to our
program preparing our players for the varsity level. He
is an outstanding coach!"

ROCKY TOBIN
8th Grade
Coach/Varsity Assistant. 7th Season with
the Grayling Viking Basketball program. College:

Grayling High School [All Conference]. BCAM Member.
